About us Refinery Artspace is an initiative of Kahurangi Employment Trust,www:http://kahurangiemploymenttrust.com/ http://www.nelsoncitycouncil.co.nz/kahurangi-employment-trust, whose main objective is providing sustainable employment to those who are disadvantaged in the employment sector. Refinery Artspace supports the development of the arts and cultural activities of the Nelson Region. Where possible we aim to support artists in all areas of their professional development and provide quality, curated exhibitions for local, national and international audiences in our multi-gallery art space. Our services to the community include Courses and Workshops, and artist mentor programmes. Over the past few years we have been making lots of physical improvements to the building and as a result we now have a much larger and more impressive exhibition area. We are also working on a Sculpture Garden to showcase local sculpture work. Here at the Refinery we believe all of this development is 'organic' and continues to change not just with the times but with the influences that surround us. Support from our community is cruical to the survival and continued excellence in showcasing our arts and culture in the region.
